Wellbeing activities for Adults, Children and FamiliesFeedback from our events
“Excellent experience, I felt very relaxed and able to spend more quality time with my children. I totally forgot about daily struggles and worries”
“We loved that we could allow our kids to be who they wanted to be on their terms and their smiles and laughter that resulted reflected this. As parents we felt a welcome relief from pressure in being able to enjoy taking our children out without the usual anxiety and being on high alert”
“Spending time ‘just being’ in a beautiful, tranquil, wild woodland was quite simply a blissful experience. I felt safe, knowing we had the woodland all to ourselves and Susan’s mindful Forest Bathing guidance induced an experience of being at one with the natural world. I could tangibly feel the benefits for days afterwards and will definitely be coming back again.”
Sessions for families with SEN children to enjoy some quality family time
These sessions provide opportunity for families to relax and ‘just be’ in a nurturing, non-judgemental environment where volunteers are on hand to guide and support as needed to keep everyone ‘safe’.
Connecting with nature in the tranquility of the woodland helps calm the emotions and provide a restorative experience for both children and parents, which can deliver benefits to both individuals and the family dynamic.
The number of families attending a session is kept low to optimise the quality of the therapeutic experience for everyone.
The woodland is private with no public access. Sessions run between 10.30 a.m. and 1.30 p.m.

Wellbeing Retreats to sooth body and soul
We run Wellbeing Retreat events at the woodland. A wonderful opportunity to engage with some deep relaxation through immersing yourself in the natural world. A great way to ‘just be’ interrupting any unhelpful thoughts causing srress and anxiety, boosting feelings of relaxation and calmness.
Spending time connecting deeply with naure soothes the body and relaxes the mind, providing a restorative experience.
Activities on Wellbeing Retreats vary according to the season but can involve formal and informal mindfulness practices, creative and contemplative experiences and opportunities to immerse yourself in the tranquility that exists in a place where the paths are made by the animals that live in the wood.

Nature therapy in action
If nature is to act as a therapeutic presence a relationship with nature is necessary, one of feeling safe, relaxed and ‘at home’.
Below are a few images to give you a flavour of the tranquil wooldand we are so fortunate to be able to use for our nature therapy sessions with adults, children and families.
